The Electrical Technician will be
responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of
electrical systems and equipment, including transformers, motors, diesel
generators (DG), variable frequency drives (VFD), starters, and field
instrumentation. The role requires strong technical expertise and the ability
to work efficiently in ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance of
electrical equipment.
Key
Responsibilities:
Transformer Maintenance:
Perform regular inspections, testing, and maintenance
of transformers.
Troubleshoot electrical faults and coordinate repairs
as necessary.
Assist in transformer oil testing and replacement.
Motor Maintenance:
Conduct routine checks and preventive maintenance on
electric motors.
Diagnose and repair motor faults, including bearing
replacement, rewinding, and alignment.
Maintain and monitor motor control circuits.
Diesel Generators (DG) Maintenance:
Inspect and perform maintenance on diesel generators
(DG sets) to ensure reliability during operation.
Monitor fuel systems, engine components, and
electrical connections.
Troubleshoot DG malfunctions and perform repairs as
needed.
Variable Frequency Drives (VFD):
Maintain and calibrate VFD systems to control motor
speeds.
Troubleshoot VFD faults and replace defective
components.
Ensure optimal VFD operation and monitor performance.
Troubleshoot and repair faults in starter circuits and
associated control systems.
Field Instrumentation:
Calibrate, test, and maintain field instrumentation
such as pressure transmitters, flow meters, temperature sensors, and
level indicators.
Perform troubleshooting and repairs of field devices
to ensure accurate readings and efficient operations.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to electrical safety regulations and procedures.
Ensure all equipment meets safety standards and
operational requirements.
Maintain a safe and organized work environment by
following all health and safety guidelines.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain records of maintenance work, inspections, and
repairs.
Prepare detailed reports and provide feedback on
equipment performance.
Assist in updating maintenance schedules and
checklists.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other maintenance team members to
ensure seamless operation and repair schedules.
Support electrical projects and upgrades as needed.
Provide technical assistance to other departments when
necessary.

Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
Diploma or ITI in Electrical
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the maintenance of
electrical equipment such as transformers, motors, DG sets, VFDs,
starters, and field instrumentation.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of electrical systems and equipment
maintenance.
Proficiency in using electrical testing tools and
diagnostic equipment.
Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety
procedures.
Ability to interpret electrical schematics and wiring
diagrams.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
