Job Description:

Role Overview


We are seeking a dynamic leader with an Armed Forces technical background to head

operations at our state-of-the-art jewellery manufacturing facility. The candidate will oversee

production, quality, plating, and compliance while ensuring precision, safety, and efficiency

in handling precious metals. This role requires strong process orientation, discipline, and the

ability to manage skilled artisans and modern machinery in a high-value environment.


Key Responsibilities


∙Production & Process Control


oLead end-to-end jewellery manufacturing operations (casting, setting,

polishing, plating, finishing).

oEstablish and enforce SOPs for handling gold, silver, and precious stones.

oEnsure adherence to FIFO and quality benchmarks for each process stage.


∙Quality & Compliance


oImplement stringent QC at every stage to minimize defects and rework.

oEnsure compliance with BIS, hallmarking, and other regulatory standards.

oEnforce security protocols for precious metal handling and inventory.


∙People & Workforce Management


oManage skilled karigars, supervisors, and technical staff with discipline and

empathy.

oTrain teams in SOPs, safety, and process improvements.

oFoster a culture of precision, accountability, and continuous improvement.


∙Operational Excellence


oDrive lean practices (5S, Kaizen) to reduce wastage and optimize efficiency.

oOversee plating and polishing processes to ensure durability and customer

satisfaction.

oCollaborate with design & NPD teams for smooth prototyping and scale-up.


∙Maintenance & Technology


oEnsure upkeep of casting machines, plating tanks, polishing units, and QC

instruments.

oSupport automation, tool upgrades, and digital tracking of workflow.

∙Safety & Security

oEnsure zero-loss protocols for precious metals.

oOversee fire safety, worker safety, and EHS compliance.

oCoordinate with audit/security teams for periodic checks.


Qualifications


∙Ex-Army (EME/Engineers), Air Force (Technical), or Navy (Engineering/Electrical)

officer.

∙Graduate/Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Production/Metallurgy).

∙10–20 years of leadership experience in technical/operational roles.

∙Exposure to high-precision manufacturing environments (automotive, aerospace,

jewellery, etc.) is an advantage.

∙Strong people management and process control skills.
