Key responsibilities  Perform welding: Join metal parts and surfaces using Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG) techniques, ensuring proper settings and gas mixtures are used.  Interpret technical documents: Read and understand blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to plan welding and assembly operations.  Prepare materials: Clean, cut, and prepare metal surfaces for welding.  Set up and maintain equipment: Set up welding machines with appropriate settings and perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.  Inspect work: Examine completed welds for quality, strength, and compliance with specifications, making repairs as needed.  Follow safety protocols: Adhere to all safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain a safe work environment.  Collaborate with teams: Work with other team members to meet production goals and deadlines.  Record keeping: Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used. Essential skills and qualifications  Proficiency in MIG welding techniques.  Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.  Familiarity with a variety of welding equipment and hand/power tools.  Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.  Physical strength and dexterity for the role.  Knowledge of safety procedures and standards.
