Job Description:

Job Description: ● Receive all details of the move from the operations manager well in advance. ● Complete materials requisition form and receive packing materials. ● Identify the packing crew & vehicle for the move and load all materials and tools. ● At client place, before starting the packing, introduce yourself and the team, survey the premises, reconfirm client’s requirements, re confirm goods to be packed, crated, stored or left behind. Also ask if there are any goods, which have to be packed first or last. ● Identify items going by Road / Air / Sea / Storage etc. ● Do not pack incompatible items like books with glass items, Pooja items with shoes etc ● Hand over the insurance value form to client and request client to complete the form before lifting the goods from clients place. ● Supervise the packing and ensure all goods are packed properly. ● Supervise and Instruct packers on how to pack / load. ● Ensure there is no wastage of packing materials or time ● Take measurements for crates as per job card and inform crating department about requirements and date when it should be ready. ● Ensure no banned or prohibited items are received or packed. (Learn about destination countries prohibited/banned list of goods) ● Enquire about contents or packages which are packed by owner. If the contents are known, but are packed by the owner – then mark as PBO in the remarks column of the packing list. If contents are unknown then clearly mark as contents and conditions unknown and mention PBO in the remarks column of packing list. ● Ensure packing is completed in the time specified. Inform operations manager and client about any variations. ● Interact with customer and make them feel comfortable. ● Properly mark all packages with package number, customer name, destination, and contents. ● Prepare packing list ● Make note of any pre-existing damages if any in the packing list under remarks column. The nature of damage or missing component should be clearly marked as “Scratched, Dented, Broken, Torn, Missing etc.” Show the damaged goods to client before packing. ● On completion of the packing get clients signature on the packing list. Sign and give a copy of the packing list to client. ● Prepare other mandatory documents like loading/unloading chart, volume chart, job report, Materials consumption Etc.
