The SAP Operator is responsible for the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the SAP system. This role supports various departments by managing data entry, ensuring the accuracy of information in SAP modules, and troubleshooting issues to optimize business processes. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, a high level of technical proficiency with SAP systems, and strong problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Entry and Management:
- Enter and manage data within the SAP system, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Update SAP records as needed to support ongoing business functions.
- Manage master data for relevant SAP modules, such as Material Management (MM), Sales and Distribution (SD), and Financial Accounting (FI).
System Monitoring and Maintenance:
- Monitor SAP system performance, including checking transaction logs, system alerts, and error reports.
- Report any system issues and work with IT or SAP support teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
- Ensure system stability and minimize downtime by performing routine system checks and maintenance.
Process Optimization:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within SAP to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement best practices for SAP usage.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Generate and distribute routine and ad-hoc reports from SAP modules as needed by various departments.
- Document and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for SAP operations and processes.
- Ensure that all data processing activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
User Support and Training:
- Provide first-level support for SAP users, addressing questions and issues related to system usage.
- Assist with training sessions and documentation for new users, as well as ongoing training to ensure efficient SAP utilization.
- Collaborate with end-users to understand their SAP-related needs and provide relevant solutions or enhancements.
Compliance and Security:
- Ensure compliance with data security and privacy policies while handling SAP data.
- Manage user access rights within SAP, making sure that access is granted according to the principle of least privilege.
- Regularly review and audit system permissions to maintain data integrity and compliance with internal policies.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
- Proven experience working with SAP software in a similar role.
- Familiarity with SAP modules (e.g., MM, SD, FI, CO) and the overall ERP system.
- Experience in data entry, database management, or a related field is a plus.
Skills:
- Proficiency in using SAP ERP software; knowledge of SAP HANA is a plus.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Certifications:
- SAP Certification in relevant modules (such as SAP MM, SAP FI, or SAP SD) is an advantage.

Salary:
- The salary range varies depending on location, experience, and company size. Typical ranges are between $40,000 - $65,000 annually, with potential for additional benefits and bonuses based on performance.
