Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:  Legal Strategy and Advice: Provide senior leadership with advice on legal issues related to real estate investments, development projects, property management, and transactions.  Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to real estate transactions, including purchase agreements, leases, development agreements, and joint venture agreements.  Due Diligence: Oversee legal due diligence processes for real estate acquisitions and sales, ensuring that all risks are identified and mitigated.  Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal real estate laws, zoning regulations, and environmental standards. Monitor and interpret new and evolving real estate laws.  Litigation Management: Manage and coordinate legal disputes, including working with external counsel on litigation matters related to real estate issues.  Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to minimize exposure for the company in real estate transactions and operations.  Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior legal staff, providing guidance and training in real estate law and best practices.  Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with the finance, development, and operations teams to ensure legal alignment on all projects and transactions.  Document Management: Maintain and organize legal documents related to real estate projects, including title documents, permits, and contracts.  External Legal Counsel Liaison: Manage relationships with external legal counsel and other professional service providers, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality legal support.  1.
