Job Description/ Roles and Responsibilities:
As a QA Tester, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of
software applications and systems. You will be responsible for designing and executing
test plans, identifying defects and issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams
to ensure that products meet or exceed quality standards. Your expertise in testing
methodologies, tools, and techniques will be crucial in maintaining a high level of
product quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities.
● Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to thoroughly test
software applications and systems.
● Identify, record, and track defects and issues, and work with development and
other cross-functional teams to resolve them in a timely manner.
● Perform functional, regression, integration, performance, and other types of
testing to ensure software meets specified requirements.
● Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to
understand software requirements and provide feedback on design and
functionality.
● Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices
in software quality assurance, and recommend improvements to existing
processes and methodologies.
● Participate in code and design reviews to ensure quality standards are met
throughout the development lifecycle.
● Document and maintain test cases, test data, and other testing artifacts for
reference and future use.
● Provide timely and accurate reports on testing progress, test results, and quality
metrics to project stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications and Mandatory Skills / Attributes.
● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
● Proven experience as a QA Tester or in a similar role, with a solid understanding
of software testing concepts, methodologies, and tools.
● Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills, with attention to detail.
● Familiarity with databases, SQL queries, and data validation.
● Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively
communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical
stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
● Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies is a plus.
● Industry certifications, such as ISTQB, CSTE, or CSQA, are a plus.
● Knowledge of programming languages, such as PHP, or Python, and experience
with test automation frameworks, such as Selenium or Appium.
