Reporting:Unit Head
Desired Skills & Traits:
- Bachelor s degree in a business-related area
- 3 to 7 years of purchasing experience
- Ability to work with little or no supervision and make independent decisions
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skill
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Computer skills: Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, MRP software
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment
- Ability to work long days when required
- Self-starter and ability to look for areas to improve processes
Key Responsibilities:
- Negotiates with vendors for good and services, negotiating the best possible price and service guarantee.
- Establishes purchasing policies and ensure compliance.
- Collaborates with marketing to evaluate executability of the design and materials selected.
- Selects vendors based on company established criteria and competitive quoting.
- Develops new supply sources where vendors are inadequate.
- Examines bids and makes awards.
- Establishes account/credit and terms.
- Negotiates blanket purchase orders when appropriate and monitors cost during the time period.
- Checks requisitions for appropriate approval and account numbers.
- Works closely with receiving department to ensure proper supplies arrived and purchase orders are closed out properly.
- Compiles data for and participates in the vendor evaluation and review process.
- Follows environmental and safety regulations and acts in compliance with Indian laws.
- Complies with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics.
- Makes entries into Purchase Orders, Bill of Materials and Bottling Work Orders.
- Visit the bottling line during production of new products to establish quality expectations.
- Works with QA on any non-conforming materials.
