Inspecting work:Ensuring work is completed to safety codes and other standards
Maintaining records:Maintaining records and projecting costs
Negotiating:Negotiating with vendors
Procurement:Assisting with the procurement of parts and supplies
Scheduling:Scheduling and ensuring the completion of corrective and preventive maintenance work
Evaluating performance:Evaluating the performance of subordinate staff
Compliance:Ensuring compliance with codes and policies
Safety:Maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring safety is the highest priority
Data collection:Collecting and analyzing data and information, including utility costs and usage
HVAC supervisors should have excellent communication skills, negotiation and supervisory skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of HVAC tools, materials, and operations.
