Department:Paramedic Staff

Job Summary:

The Paramedic is responsible for providing emergency medical care, life support, and transportation to patients in need of urgent medical attention. They work in high-pressure environments, responding to 911 calls, medical emergencies, accidents, and disasters.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Emergency Response & Patient Care

   • Assess patient conditions quickly and accurately.

   • Administer advanced life support (ALS) procedures such as IV therapy, intubation, defibrillation, and medication administration.

   • Provide CPR, wound care, fracture stabilization, and other emergency treatments.

   • Operate and maintain emergency medical equipment.

2. Patient Transportation

   • Safely transport patients to medical facilities while monitoring their condition.

   • Communicate effectively with hospital staff and relay patient information.

3. Documentation & Compliance

   • Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, and response times.

   • Adhere to all local, state, and federal medical guidelines and protocols.

4. Teamwork & Communication

   • Work closely with EMTs, firefighters, police officers, and hospital staff.

   • Provide clear instructions to bystanders and family members in emergency situations.

5. Equipment & Vehicle Maintenance

   • Regularly check and maintain ambulance and medical equipment.

   • Ensure all supplies are stocked and in working condition.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or GED; Paramedic certification from an accredited program.

• Certification: Valid Paramedic license (State/National); CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

• Experience: 2 years of experience in emergency medical services preferred.

• Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Ability to stay calm under pressure.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry patients and equipment.

• Comfortable working long shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
