Job Description:

A Bakery Chef is responsible for managing all aspects of a bakery, including food preparation, inventory, and staff supervision. They create and bake a variety of goods like breads, pastries, and desserts, while also developing new recipes and ensuring quality. Additionally, they maintain a clean and organized workspace, monitor supplies, and train junior staff. 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Baking and Food Preparation:

Preparing a wide range of baked goods, following recipes, and creating new items. 

·         Menu Development:

Developing new recipes and seasonal menu items, considering customer preferences and trends. 

·         Quality Control:

Ensuring consistency and quality in all baked goods, and maintaining proper sanitation standards. 

·         Inventory Management:

Monitoring inventory, ordering supplies, and managing stocks of ingredients and equipment. 

·         Staff Supervision and Training:

Training and supervising junior baking staff, ensuring they adhere to best practices. 

·         Workspace Management:

Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the baking area, and adhering to food safety regulations. 

·         Collaboration:

Collaborating with kitchen staff and management teams to ensure seamless operations. 

Specific Skills and Knowledge:

·         Baking Expertise: Proficiency in various baking techniques, including mixing, proofing, and baking different types of dough and batters. 

·         Recipe Development: Creativity and ability to develop new and innovative recipes. 

·         Food Safety and Sanitation: Knowledge of and adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards. 

·         Inventory Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage inventory effectively. 

·         Leadership and Training: Ability to lead and train junior staff, providing guidance and mentorship. 

·         Communication and Collaboration: Effective communication skills to collaborate with other chefs and staff.
