Job Title: Plant Head 

Location: Jabalpur

Job Summary:

The Plant Head will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations in an oil and edible seed oil processing facility, including production, maintenance, quality assurance, logistics, safety, and team management. The role involves strategic planning and day-to-day execution to ensure cost-effective and efficient production while maintaining product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plant Operations & Production Management

Lead end-to-end operations of oilseed crushing, oil extraction, refining, and packaging processes.

Monitor daily production schedules, output, and KPIs to meet business goals.

Drive process optimization to improve yield, reduce downtime, and minimize waste.

2. Maintenance & Asset Management

Oversee maintenance of all equipment and machinery to ensure minimal downtime.

Implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.

Coordinate with engineering and procurement teams for upgrades or replacements.

3. Quality Assurance & Compliance

Ensure compliance with food safety standards (FSSAI, ISO, HACCP, etc.).

Enforce quality control across production stages (raw materials to finished product).

Liaise with regulatory bodies for audits, licenses, and certifications.

4. People Management

Manage, train, and motivate cross-functional plant teams, including production, quality, maintenance, and logistics.

Build a high-performance culture with accountability and continuous improvement.

Ensure workforce safety and implement robust EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) practices.

5. Supply Chain & Inventory Management

Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams for timely raw material and packaging supply.

Oversee inventory control and ensure optimal stock levels to support uninterrupted production.

6. Budgeting & Cost Control

Prepare and manage plant budget, focusing on cost reduction and efficiency improvements.

Monitor operational costs, reduce wastage, and control utility consumption (electricity, steam, water, etc.).

7. Strategic Planning & Reporting

Contribute to long-term capacity planning and expansion projects.

Provide regular MIS and performance reports to senior management.

Stay updated with industry trends, competitor activities, and technological advancements.
