Opportunity for SENIOR ASSOCIATE, QUALITY ASSURANCE
An overview of your job role
The Senior Associate, Quality Assurance is responsible for delivering robust testing solutions for entire project.
This includes strategy, planning, estimation, test execution, test reporting, team and client management. The
SA QA is responsible for managing testing of client solutions, managing teams for end to end testing
ownership of Web-based and/or Mobile supporting program. The SA QA will ensure test documents, testing
procedures are in place and ensures the success of deployments of solutions to customers and assuring
customer satisfaction and business success. The SA QA will be required to learn new technologies and be
effective in new application domains in a short time. The SA QA will own quality of entire solution delivered
end-to-end. This role demands hands-on testing, methodical problem solving, great verbal and written
communication skills, and teamwork.
A detailed look at your job responsibilities
Scoping
- Leads creation of QA scope matrix for medium to large size project (5 - 8 team members) under multiple
projects/ tracks
- Should be able to manage and control project’s QA scope and the change control process
- Assist the pursuit team to complete RFP's, project’s QA scoping, sizing and pricing estimates
Project Setup
- Structures and manages QA across integrated, multi-track projects and/or program
- Oversees project’s QA estimations and staffing
- Sets project quality and performance standards
- Builds and structures the project’s QA team to ensure maximum performance
- Ensures project wide QA roles and responsibilities are defined
- Ensures a positive, collaborative work environment for the team
- Mentors and coaches QA team members, as appropriate
- Participate in designing manual testing strategies
Risk and Issue Management
- Should be able to identify risks and issues within the assigned tasks and/or on the assigned track of work
and communicate it to the delivery leadership/client with proposed resolution
Project Planning & Tracking
- Should be able to develop detailed QA work plans (high/mid), project schedules, estimates, and people
plans in conjunction with project team members and other involved client teams
- Leads the testing and tracking against QA plans
- Should be able to monitor and report on project traction and progress and, as necessary, coordinate the
development with regards to QA, discussion, and approval of corrective action and/or contingency plans
- Feeds back progress/delays to programme lead with an outline of issues
- Is aware of Avizva Approach methodology and tools
Project Execution
- Develops and tracks project’s QA plans for multiple tracks of work
- Should be able define “quality” and ensures sign-off of deliverables from QA perspective
- Assure that project’s QA complete according to schedule and within budget
- Provides purpose, direction and motivation to team

Dependency Management
- Should be able to work with track leads/client for identifying and working on cross module/team
dependencies to ensure smooth functioning of the tracks
- Work with multi-site project teams across time zones Client Management
- Should be able to handle client discussions on status/dependencies/process
- Develops relationships with appropriate client stakeholders. Provides day-to-day contact for client on track
related communications
- Ensure project deliverables meet/exceed the project sponsor's specified expectations
- Engage project stakeholders and communicate project updates to ensure buy in and project success
(examples: meetings, status updates)
- Develops relationships with, and ensures the appropriate participation of, key client stakeholders and client
executives
- Maintains awareness of the current industry environment that shapes opportunities for client solutions (i.e.
news events, trends, mergers, etc.)
Communication
- Should be able to communicate effectively with all project team members/clients
- Should be able to create and present project’s QA status reports highlighting critical issues for management
and overall status of the QA across multiple tracks of work
- Drive project’s QA through effective use of internal and client status meetings/reports
- Clarifies and communicates project’s test strategy
Specialisation
- Has intermediate level expertise in a quality assurance domain Company Contribution

- Participates in recruitment and hiring activities, including interviewing and conducting hiring exercises for
Associates and Sr. Associates in the QA Domain
- Participates in, and assists with, company events such as training and internal initiatives. Contributes to the
ongoing development of the. Quality assurance Domain and community at Avizva
- Actively shares knowledge and learning from project experiences
Skill Requirement
- At least 6-8 years of quality assurance experience in a consulting organization in SQA including successful
enterprise-grade packaged software releases
- Strong understanding of manual QA
- Experience of managing testing of multiple client solutions at a time
- Experience testing Web-based, Mobile-based and Multi-modal applications
- Experience with Javascript, XML and Shell scripting
- Experience with testing web applications using SOAP and XML mock data
- Experience in using MySQL as a backend database
- Experience of at least one Automation tool – Selenium, SilkTest, WinRunner, etc. (preferred)
- Experience of working in UNIX/LINUX environments
- Experience in Object Oriented Programming languages preferably Java
- Experience in leading teams and guiding the team members towards best practices and QA tools
- Good understanding of Build and Release processes is a must
- Experience in testing out client-server infrastructure, API’s (backend as well as UI) is must
- Knowledge of performance and security testing (preferred)
- Demonstrated leadership capability, preferably with leadership experience with teams of 8+ people

- Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, negotiating, influencing, facilitation, organisational,

- Strong understanding of quality assurance methodology including the ability to identify and resolve issues,
manage risk, develop detailed work plans and specifications and run team meetings
- Strong knowledge of software development life cycles, web technologies, web development processes and
the delivery of solutions with creative and engineering components
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven mentoring, and team-building skills
- Ability to solve problems with keen instincts and organisational experience
Experience
- 6-8 years of relevant experience
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required in Computer Science or related field preferred
