Job Description:

Senior Design Engineer will drive technical advancement and oversee the daily operations of highly skilled engineering staff while ensuring that company objectives and goals are met.  In this role, the candidate will ensure that Strolar has coverage for our various product verticals, and the right team structure, and will develop and/or make the case to hire as needed to oversee our projects, ensuring that structures are safe and strong.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensures continuous accuracy, learning, and improvement of engineering methods and tools as well as key performance indicator metrics.
• Undertakes technical and feasibility studies and resolves design and development problems.
• Oversees, assists and directs the daily workflow and sets the strategic direction of the design department
• Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new engineering staff
• Provides constructive and timely performance and employee development evaluations
• Ensuring design compliance with regulations, with Indian, Euro and American Codes
• Oversees and directs the develops new products according to the market trends
• Able to implement Indian, American and Euro Codes in Design and BOM.
• Need to have experience in managing a team.

Skills Required:

• Minimum 5-7 years’ experience as a Design Engineer Lead
• Bachelor or Master in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural
• Demonstrated leadership responsibilities and results
• Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP tools
• Savvy in using a range of computer software for developing detailed designs and undertaking complex calculation
• Familiar with a variety of engineering design and application concepts, practices, and procedures (e.g., structural, aerodynamics, geotechnical, construction management, International Building Code)
• Able to influence and elicit cooperation and drive consensus from management & leadership
• Taking ownership and accountability for producing tangible results
• Position relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and perform a variety of complex tasks
• The skill of flexibility and proven experience in working with cross-functions and handling teams
  
  
  

Required Candidate Profile:

• Completed commercial training, alternatively completed commercial or related technical studies
• Good exposures and experience in designing of new product for Rooftop, Carport, Ground Mount, Tracker
• and understanding of UL 2703 are pluses. The data-driven previous experience as a structural/mechanical/civil engineer in solar projects is a must
• Excellent knowledge of construction methods and regulations
• Hands-on experience with CAD, SOLIDWORKS, STAAD PRO, CFD, and Simulation Tools
• Data-driven mind-set with excellent mathematical skills
• Strategic thinking – able to take initiative through thought leadership, build hypotheses, and outline solutions
• Desire to take on responsibility for the implementation of tasks
• Taking ownership and accountability for producing tangible results
• Highly adaptive and comfortable with ambiguity; highly collaborative and able to build relationships across the organization
• Experience in solar tracker is a plus
